Airbus Extends Recaro Responsibilities

Seat manufacturer Recaro has received extended signature rights from Airbus enabling it to become more involved in the aircraft development process.

Seat manufacturer Recaro has received extended signature rights from Airbus enabling it to become more involved in the aircraft development process.

The agreement means that Recaro employees can now verify technical certification documents and approve their final release on behalf of Airbus, where previously documents had to be checked by the OEM.

The new authorisation means that Recaro will be given extended responsibilities on behalf of the Airbus design team.

Recaro first received signature rights from Airbus in 2012 for the A350, and this approval has now been extended to all Airbus aircraft programmes.

Recaro is also the only aircraft seat supplier for which these rights have also been granted in regard to the development of electronic hardware and software components.

The new authorisation is expected to decrease lead times by reducing the cooperation efforts required by each organisation.
