Airbus has installed two flight-ready Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines onto its first flight-test A350 XWB, it will also install the new Honeywell HGT1700 auxiliary power unit (APU) onto the aircraft at its production facility in Toulouse, France.  The Trent XWB has powered a series of test flights on Airbus’ A380 test-bed aircraft since February 2012. The next stage is for the aircraft to be handed over to Airbus’ flight test team to begin preparations for ground runs and first flight in the summer.
