Airbus’ Runway Overrun Prevention System (ROPS) has gained EASA certification to be used on the A330 family.

Following the EASA approval, the cockpit technology is now available for line fit and retrofit on all Airbus aircraft having already been approved for the A320, A350 and A380. ROPS is designed to increase pilots’ situational awareness during landing, reduce exposure to runway excursion risk and provide active protection.

Airbus said flag carrier Korean Air will be the first airline to use ROPS on its fleet of A330s.
