Aircelle Opens First US MRO Facility

Nacelle manufacturer Aircelle has formally opened a 1,579m2 maintenance facility in Indianapolis, Indiana, after acquiring the nacelle repair division of Applied Composites Engineering (ACE).

Nacelle manufacturer Aircelle has formally opened a 1,579m2 maintenance facility in Indianapolis, Indiana, after acquiring the nacelle repair division of Applied Composites Engineering (ACE).

The facility, renamed Aircelle Services Americas, specialises in composite repairs and is certified to provide maintenance on nacelles for Embraer ERJ135 and ERJ145 aircraft equipped with AE3007 engines and E170 and E175 jets with CF34-8E powerplants.

Aircelle is planning to significantly expand the site’s service offering to include nacelles for the CFM56-5, PW6000 and Trent 700.

The OEM has also confirmed it plans to service the nacelles for the LEAP-1A and Trent 7000 when they enter service.

Aircelle’s purchase from ACE included tooling, MRO resources and its qualified staff.
