Boeing Bullish After Strong Quarter

Boeing’s Q3 earnings have climbed almost a fifth to $1.4bn thanks to strong performance from its commercial aircraft division.

Boeing’s Q3 earnings have climbed almost a fifth to $1.4bn thanks to strong performance from its commercial aircraft division.

Boeing delivered 186 aircraft in the quarter, 16 more than in Q3 2013, and saw commercial sales rise 16 per cent to $16.1bn.

The company also booked 501 orders during the quarter, taking its backlog to more than 5,500 aircraft.

Boeing still expects to deliver 715-725 airliners for the full year, but has raised its margin forecast for commercial aircraft from 10 to around 10.5 per cent.
