Boeing & Embraer Collaborate On Biofuel

Boeing and Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer are to open a sustainable aviation biofuel research centre at the São José dos Campos Technology Park, São Paulo, in a bid to create a sustainable aviation biofuel industry in the country.

Boeing and Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer are to open a sustainable aviation biofuel research centre at the São José dos Campos Technology Park, São Paulo, in a bid to create a sustainable aviation biofuel industry in the country.

The facility will co-fund research with Brazilian universities that will focus on feedstock production, techno-economic analysis, economic viability studies and processing technologies.

Embraer engineering and technology executive vice president Mauro Kern said “Brazil has shown its potential and is already a benchmark for the clean-energy industry, having created very successful ethanol and biodiesel industries.”

Boeing also has biofuel-development projects in the US, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, China, Japan, Southeast Asia and Australia.
