Boeing Meets Environment Targets

Boeing has achieved its first five-year targets for reducing greenhouse-gas emissions, water consumption, waste to landfill and hazardous waste generation, according to its latest annual environment report. The report highlights the increased fuel efficiency of the 777X and the 787-10, and advances such as zero emission solar tubes for aircraft painting, as developments that have helped it to meet its targets. The OEM has now set new targets for 2017. Airbus has also emphasised its environmental achievements this week, discussing the increased fuel-efficiency of its A350 XWB and A320neo over earlier aircraft and outlining its hope that improvements to ATM through the Clean Sky 2 programme will deliver more efficient flight paths.
