Boeing Steps Up Environmental Performance

Boeing has made “significant improvements” in its environmental performance, according to the company’s annual ‘Environment Report’. On a revenue adjusted basis, Boeing facilities have reduced hazardous waste by 33 per cent, carbon dioxide by 26 per cent, energy use by 21 per cent and water intake by 20 per cent since 2007. On an absolute basis, the reductions equate to 18 per cent, nine per cent, three per cent and two per cent respectively. In 2012, 79 per cent of solid waste was diverted from landfills, representing a 36 per cent improvement since 2007.
