Boeing Unveils 777X Composite Wing Centre

Boeing has opened its new facility in Everett, Washington for the manufacture of composite material wings for the 777X aircraft.

Boeing has opened its new facility in Everett, Washington for the manufacture of composite material wings for the 777X aircraft.

Located at its existing campus, Boeing said that it invested more than $1bn in the construction of the facility and that the new centre will “sustain thousands of local jobs for decades to come”.

To date, the 777X family aircraft has amassed 320 customer orders and commitments for its -8 and -9 variants.

First delivery of the widebody is scheduled for 2020.
