Bombardier has confirmed discussions with Airbus believed to be about investing in the Canadian OEM’s CSeries programme have ended.

The announcement made on Tuesday (October 6) comes days after Reuters reported Montreal-headquartered Bombardier had been looking to sell a stake in the CSeries programme to Airbus.

Bombardier said it will now “continue to explore initiatives such as a potential participation in industry consolidation.”

The narrowbody aircraft is scheduled to enter into service in 2016 three years later than planned.
