Bombardier has started the ramp-up of its CSeries production after completing the structure of launch customer SWISS Air’s first CS100.

In a statement released on Tuesday (January 19), the Canadian OEM said the first CS100 is scheduled for a Q2 2016 delivery to SWISS, with the airline’s crews undergoing aircraft flight training in Québec.

The production announcement comes amidst reports that Delta Air Lines is interested in buying CSeries aircraft.

Richard Anderson, CEO of the Atlanta-based airline, told investors yesterday that Bombardier brought the aircraft to the airline’s Atlanta headquarters before Christmas and he said: “At the right price, it’s quite a competitive airplane, particularly given the engine technology.”
