Bombardier has announced plans to ramp up production of its CSeries programme to deliver 255 to 315 aircraft up to 2020.

Bombardier has announced plans to ramp up production of its CSeries programme to deliver 255 to 315 aircraft up to 2020.

Announced by the OEM in New York on Tuesday (November 24), the ramp up strategy will start in 2016 with 15-20 aircraft produced from Montreal, before plans to double this to 30-35 aircraft the following year.

By 2020, Bombardier said it hopes the CSeries programme, which last month received a financial boost from the Quebec government, will generate revenues of $25bn.

The OEM’s CEO Alain Bellemare said: “Despite some of our short-term challenges that we are addressing, the potential for Bombardier is great and we are turning the business around.”
