CFM Inks CFM56-5B Support Contract With LATAM

CFM International has finalised a 12-year services agreement with LATAM Airlines Group (LATAM) for maintenance support on 35 of its CFM56-5B engines powering some of its A320 Family aircraft fleet.

CFM International has finalised a 12-year services agreement with LATAM Airlines Group (LATAM) for maintenance support on 35 of its CFM56-5B engines powering some of its A320 Family aircraft fleet.

The rate per flight hour service contract was announced at Farnborough yesterday (July 14) and will see CFM guarantee the South American carrier’s engine maintenance costs.

Jean-Paul Ebanga, president and CEO of CFM, said: “In 2011, they [LATAM] were the first to operate our new CFM56-5B PIP engine and the introduction the fleet has been seamless. Our goal is to provide the same level of aftersales support for this fleet.”
