Chromalloy Unveils Mexico Facility

US firm Chromalloy has opened its new 3,500m² gas turbine engine machining facility in Guaymas, Mexico.

US firm Chromalloy has opened its new 3,500m² gas turbine engine machining facility in Guaymas, Mexico.

The facility will have capability for precision machining on new production pressure gas turbine engine components including blades and segments and its target customers will be aircraft engine manufacturers and heavy industrial gas turbine OEMs.

Chromalloy said the new site’s capacity is more than double that of its adjacent facility where it has operated since 2009.

Thomas Mepham, CEO of parent company Sequa said: “This brand-new plant is a significant part of our growth strategy as a global supplier in the new engine supply chain.”
