Commercial Aerospace Revenues Hit $315bn In 2014

The global commercial aerospace sector achieved record order backlogs of 12,175 aircraft and revenues of $314.9bn in 2014, according to a new study into the top 100 global aerospace and defence companies by financial services firm Deloitte.

The global commercial aerospace sector achieved record order backlogs of 12,175 aircraft and revenues of $314.9bn in 2014, according to a new study into the top 100 global aerospace and defence companies by financial services firm Deloitte.

Commercial aircraft deliveries increased by 6.1 per cent increase on the previous year to 1,352; while the order backlog rose by 14.4 per cent.

Deloitte said that the bulk of new commercial aircraft sales were as a result of increased travel demand in the Middle East, India and China, coupled with fleet renewal programmes.
