Crane Wins DCMS Beluga Contract

Crane Aerospace & Electronics has signed a contract with Airbus to provide the door control and monitoring system (DCMS) for its new Beluga aircraft.

Crane Aerospace & Electronics has signed a contract with Airbus to provide the door control and monitoring system (DCMS) for its new Beluga aircraft.

The Crane DCMS will monitor, communicate and control the position of the aircraft’s main cargo doors, as well as monitor the position of the aft cargo, bulk cargo and belly doors.

In addition, the DCMS will communicate with other aircraft systems as well as to door- and cargo bay-mounted status panels.

The new Beluga aircraft is scheduled to enter service in mid-2019.
