Ducommun secures Trent 1000 TEN supply contract

Rolls-Royce has signed an agreement with California-based engineering firm Ducommun to produce the interconnect systems for its forthcoming upgrade to the Trent 1000 engine – the Trent 1000 TEN (thrust, efficiency and new technology).

Rolls-Royce has signed an agreement with California-based engineering firm Ducommun to produce the interconnect systems for its forthcoming upgrade to the Trent 1000 engine – the Trent 1000 TEN (thrust, efficiency and new technology).

The TEN, which is scheduled for EASA certification before the end of the year will power all variants of the 787 and incorporates technologies from the Trent XWB and Rolls-Royce’s advanced engine programme.

Under the seven-year deal Ducommun will manufacture the engine’s interconnect systems at its facilities in Joplin, US and Guaymas, Mexico.
