EASA Certifies The PW1500G Engine

EASA has certified Pratt & Whitney’s PW1500G engine which will power Bombardier’s CSeries aircraft.

EASA has certified Pratt & Whitney’s PW1500G engine which will power Bombardier’s CSeries aircraft.

The approval, granted on May 18, covers the PW1519G, PW1520G, PW1524G and PW1525G engine thrust variants.

Graham Webb, vice-president of Pratt’s commercial engines 17/24K programmes, said: “The EASA validation of the PW1500G type certificate is a key programme milestone enabling Pratt to deliver engines for our entry into service customer Swiss Air.”

Swiss Air is scheduled to begin operating the first PW1500G-powered CS100 aircraft on July 15.
