Ethiopian Airlines has signed an agreement with Safran for its SFCO2 offering which will target fuel efficiency across its fleet.

The service will be deployed later this year and the French OEM said as well as targeting reductions in the airline’s fuel consumption, it will also explore the implementation of best operating practices.

This will see Safran analyse Ethiopian’s maintenance and flight operations, and specialised SFCO2 teams will submit a report to including personalised recommendations for operational improvements.

François Planaud, head of the services and MRO Division at Safran Aircraft Engines, said the cooperation will “significantly” reduce Ethiopian’s fuel bill.
