Exova to test Böhler components

Böhler has signed a five-year contract with NDT firm Exova to provide material testing programmes.

Exova will perform tests on forged aerospace alloy components for use in aero-engines and structural airframes at its laboratory in Plzeň, Czech Republic.

The tests will include those examining fatigue and fracture mechanics and a range of specialist metallurgical and mechanical assessments.

Böhler’s customers include Airbus, to which it supplies parts for the A320neo fuselage, as well as the engine connectors, engine suspensions and the centre wing box.
