Composite components and systems specialist FACC has delivered the first fan cowls for the forthcoming A330neo aircraft.
The parts were delivered to Safran Nacelles, which is supplying the nacelle systems for the aircraft’s Trent 7000 engines.
Robert Braunsberger, FACC vice-president engines and nacelles, said: “The expectations of the client with regard to weight and performance were a demanding challenge.
Nevertheless, due to our strong expertise, we succeeded in developing a viable, economical, overall concept.”
Austria-based FACC was awarded the fan cowls development and manufacturing contract in September 2014.
First delivery of the A330neo, now entering the test phase, is expected for Spring 2017 to launch customer TAP Portugal.
