Fadec Alliance To Supply GE9X Engine Controls

Fadec Alliance, a joint venture between Fadec International and GE, will provide engine controls for the GE9X engine powering Boeing’s 777X aircraft.

Fadec Alliance, a joint venture between Fadec International and GE, will provide engine controls for the GE9X engine powering Boeing’s 777X aircraft.

Under the terms of the agreement, Fadec Alliance will design and provide full authority digital engine controls (FADEC), a system consisting of a digital computer and related accessories to control aircraft engine performance including engine fuel flow and variable engine geometries.

“This contract continues FADEC International’s business relationship with GE onto the next generation of aircraft,” said Dennis Slattery, board member of FADEC Alliance and director of engine systems at BAE Systems, which is a partner along with Safran in Fadec International.

The GE9X-powered 777X is expected to enter into production next year before being rolled out by 2020.
