First 787-9 Reaches Final Assembly

Boeing's first 787-9 Dreamliner began final assembly on May 30 in Everett, Washington. All sections of the aircraft were delivered to final assembly on time, making way for the production of other flight-test aircraft; the first three 787-9s will be built on its temporary surge line. The Dreamliner will be able to carry 40 more passengers and hopes to reduce fuel burn by 20 per cent when compared to similar size aircraft.
