First CSeries Flight To Occur In “Coming Weeks”

Bombardier says the first flight of the CSeries has again been put back but is expected to take place in “the coming weeks”.  The manufacturer said that the integration of the CSeries’ auxiliary power unit and the Pratt & Whitney PW1500G engines on the first flight test vehicle (FTV1) was “running smoothly”, allowing for testing of the aircraft's key systems. It also confirmed that the latest software upgrades on the aircraft “continue to be successfully completed”. Bombardier said that it was taking more time than initially anticipated to validate the overall systems and ongoing software integration due to the “highly technical last steps” of overall integration, thus causing the delay in first flight.
