Aircraft cabin lighting specialists STG Aerospace has received supplemental type certification from the FAA and EASA for its photoluminescent, emergency floorpath marking system, safTglo SuperSeal UltraLite (SSUL).

STG Aerospace says the new SSUL system is 70 per cent lighter than previous models and 17 per cent brighter.

The system has no end caps which, according to STG, makes it easier to cut and seal during installation.

SSUL will come in more than 300 colour options and a pattern matching service will help airlines to coordinate the flooring with their corporate branding.

STG is also set to provide an over carpet housing option that removes the need for carpet binding, helping to reduce costs.

The system is FAA and EASA approved for the A320 and EASA approved for 747, 757 and 737 aircraft.
