Hawker Pacific Aerospace, a subsidiary of Lufthansa Technik, has opened a new 12,000sq-ft facility enabling it to offer MRO services for thrust reverser units. The California based MRO, which is known as a specialist in landing gear services, has opened a new airframe related component shop in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The new facility is set to be a hub for thrust reverser services for Lufthansa Technik customers in the Americas, adding to the group’s thrust reverser facilities in Hamburg and Hong Kong. Hawker Pacific Aerospace’s shop, which can service six to eight units at a time, has already received five thrust reverser units (V2500) from its launch customer Spirit Airlines. The MRO aims to be able to service more thrust reverser types, including CFM56-5B/-7, CF34-10E, Trent 1000 and/or GEnx-1B.
