Iran has reportedly signed a deal with Russia for a $21bn order for the Sukhoi SuperJet (SSJ100).

According to Russian media reports on Saturday (September 26), Manouchehr Manteghi, managing director of Iran Aviation Industries Organization (IAIO) confirmed the order was for the aircraft and also included satellite equipment and was signed during a visit by an Iranian delegation to Russia for the MAKS-2015 international air show.

The exact number of aircraft ordered hasn’t been specified but Manteghi said there was “a large share of contracts for the purchase of this type of aircraft.”
