US-based Kaman Aerosystems is to manufacture the composite A-frame fairings for Rolls Royce’s Trent XWB engine which will power the A350.
The multi-year contract, valued at $5m, was announced on Monday (October 20).
The agreement will see the A-Frame manufactured at Kaman’s facility in Bennington, Vermont.
Kaman Aerosystems, a division of Kaman Aerospace, is a supplier of aerostructures including metallic and composite assemblies and metallic parts for aircraft.
The A350-900 was granted type certification by EASA last month and is due to enter service before the end of the year.
