Liebherr-Aerospace Unveils New Michigan Facility

Liebherr-Aerospace has opened a new 3,200m2 facility at its existing site at Saline, Michigan to expand its light manufacturing activities and for the repair of heat exchangers.

Liebherr-Aerospace has opened a new 3,200m2 facility at its existing site at Saline, Michigan to expand its light manufacturing activities and for the repair of heat exchangers.

At the new centre, the French OEM said it has drawn on the latest manufacturing technologies such as robotic assisted welding and 3D non-contact metrology inspections for implementation in the heat exchanger re-core shop.

Charles Thoyer-Rozat, executive vice-president of customer support and aerospace services at Liebherr-Aerospace, said the firm’s ability to re-core heat exchangers is “a substantial addition” to its repair capabilities in the US.

Liebherr-Aerospace’s main Saline facility started operating in 1991 to support customers in the Americas region with capabilities including MRO services for air management systems, flight control, actuation systems, landing gear systems as well as the assembly of flight control components.
