MBD Invests $5.6m In New Brake Test Rigs

Messier-Bugatti-Dowty (MBD) has installed two new test rigs at its carbon brake manufacturing plant near Villeurbanne, France as part of the facility’s 30th anniversary celebrations.

Messier-Bugatti-Dowty (MBD) has installed two new test rigs at its carbon brake manufacturing plant near Villeurbanne, France as part of the facility’s 30th anniversary celebrations.

The Safran subsidiary received financial support from the Rhône-Alpes region and the City of Lyon in making the €5m ($5.6m) investment to build the new test facilities.

The rigs will assess carbon brakes for commercial aircraft, such as the A350 and 787, as well as business and military aircraft.
