The Aleris aluminium factory in Zhenjiang, China, has received Nadcap accreditation a year after opening. The rolling mill is set to produce aluminium plate for the aerospace industry. Accreditation with Nadcap is needed for a product to be listed on the qualified product list for major aircraft manufacturers and is carried out by the Performance Review Institute. Aleris’ Zhenjiang factory met requirements for heat treating and non-destructive testing. The $350m factory was designed to meet the global increase in demand for aluminium plate from the aerospace sector, and is set to be the first such factory in the Asia Pacific.
