Pratt & Whitney Breaks Ground On Singapore Facility

Yesterday (January 31) Pratt & Whitney Singapore Manufacturing broke ground on a new production facility at the Seletar Aerospace Park. The 180,000ft2 facility will manufacture fan blades and high pressure turbine disks for Pratt & Whitney’s ‘PurePower’ geared turbofan engines. The capability will border the existing 160,000ft2 flagship facility at Seletar - Pratt & Whitney Singapore Component Repair, which is expected to be ready for occupancy in Q1 2013 with initial production beginning by Q4 2013. The new facility is set to be completed by 2014 and will begin producing commercial engine fan blades in 2015 and high pressure turbine disks by 2016.
