P&W breaks ground on new global HQ

Pratt & Whitney (P&W) broke ground on its new 39,000m2 headquarters in East Hartford, Connecticut on Thursday (July 16).

The site, which will house a new engineering plant, is scheduled to open in 2017. Its construction is part of P&W’s commitment to building new facilities in the state following 2014’s Connecticut Aerospace Reinvestment Act, which allowed the OEM to exchange unused tax credits to invest in upgrading and expanding its aerospace research, development and manufacturing sites.

At the ground breaking ceremony, Paul Adams, P&W president, said: “This new world-class facility will house the best and brightest minds to help us continue operating on the cutting edge of aviation technology for decades to come.”
