Pratt & Whitney (P&W) has increased the size of its Middletown, Connecticut, engine manufacturing site.

The expanded facility features new assembly lines and test cells which will enable it to ramp up production of its geared-turbofan engines when they enter into service.

At the site’s opening on Wednesday (February 25) P&W unveiled its state-of-the-art horizontal engine assembly moving line, which will produce its PW1100G-JM engine, the power plant for the forthcoming A320neo.
