Engine maker Rolls-Royce has finalised the creation of its joint venture (JV) with Hispano-Suiza to develop new transmission systems for its civil aviation engines, after announcing a MOU in July.

The JV will operate for the next 25 years and will manufacture transmissions for all of Rolls-Royce’s future civil aircraftengines, but with a particular focus on the Trent 7000, which powers the A330neo.

Hispano-Suiza, a Safran company, worked with Rolls-Royce on the power transmission system for the Trent XWB.

The French-headquartered JV will start operating in 2015 and will have production facilities in Germany and the UK.
