Rolls-Royce has signed a contract with British Airways and Iberia parent company International Airlines Group (IAG) to supply its Trent XWB engine for eight A350s.

The aircraft, which will be operated by Spanish carrier Iberia, are in addition to an order IAG placed in August last year for another eight Trent-powered A350s.

The financial details of the deal haven’t been disclosed by either party. Iberia already operates 17 Trent 500 powered A340-600 aircraft and the latest contract takes their fleet of Trent powered aircraft delivered and on order to 33.
