A Sukhoi Superjet 100 touched down without landing gear after a test flight, its manufacturer said. The aircraft, tail number 97005, landed on its belly at Keflavik International Airport, Iceland, yesterday. Sukhoi was conducting category IIIA autoland certification testing and single-engine approaches. There were five people on board, including three crew and two experts from the certification centre, one of which injured his leg during the incident. Sukhoi said: “At the time of the incident all aircraft systems were functioning normally”, suggesting the cause was pilot error. Damage to the aircraft’s belly, flaps and right engine nacelle will be repaired and the aircraft will be returned to the test flight programme.
