Nine members of the Turkish Aeronautical Association, including its chairman Osman Yıldırım, have been arrested on suspicion of fraud, local papers report.

The officials were detained yesterday accused of leaking confidential information about plans for a Turkish light aircraft over social media.

The Türkkuşu, or “Turkish Bird”, is a two-seat aircraft with everything but the engines built in Turkey. It was due to be revealed at an air show last month but has failed to receive certification.
