Boeing has selected UTC Aerospace Systems to supply three systems on the new 777X, adding to contracts awarded to the firm in 2015.
As part of the agreements, UTC will provide the trim actuator that moves the horizontal stabiliser to trim and steady the aircraft in the pitch axis during flight.
Additionally, UTC will also provide the aircraft’s ground maneuvering camera system (GMCS) and proximity sensor data concentrators (PSDC).
The GMCS is designed to give pilots’ video and camera views of the aircraft nose gear, main gear and wingtip areas to aid in taxiway maneouvering, while the PSDC senses and monitors the position of areas including the interior, exterior and thrust reverser doors and tail position.
The latest contract builds on agreements signed by the parties last year for the 777X including the supply of the electric power generating system, cabin air conditioning and temperature control system, airfoil and cowl ice protection system, and the ventilation system suite of fans.
