Delta CEO Richard Anderson has announced he will retire in May after nine years at the helm of the Atlanta-based carrier.

Delta CEO Richard Anderson has announced he will retire in May after nine years at the helm of the Atlanta-based carrier.

During his tenure, Anderson oversaw Delta’s emergence from bankruptcy protection and its merger with Northwest Airlines.

He will be replaced by Ed Bastian, who is currently Delta’s president, but will take a role as executive chairman.
