Delta Air Lines’ first network move in its joint venture with Virgin Atlantic has been to announce new Seattle-London flights. The US airline plans to operate daily services on the route from 29 March, 2014. Delta described the new flight as “an important enhancement to Delta’s growing trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific network from Seattle”. Seattle is a growing airport for Delta, which has recently introduced flights from the gateway to Shanghai and Tokyo-Haneda. It also serves Tokyo Narita, Beijing and Osaka from Seattle, and offers non-stop flights to its partners’ European hubs in Paris and Amsterdam. Earlier this month Delta and Virgin Atlantic began codesharing on 108 routes to 66 destinations in the UK and US.
