Gama Aviation Moves Towards A Paperless Cockpit

Gama Aviation has received UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) approval to enable flight crews for its G-registered aircraft to use iPad EFBs (electronic flight bags) for flight planning. The approval will allow Gama Aviation’s pilots to improve operational efficiency by removing the traditional flight deck documents and consequently receive real time updates as well as achieve weight and cost savings. The iPads will come loaded with Airwatch Secure Content Locker and the Jeppesen Mobile FliteDeck e-chart application. “Integrating Jeppesen mobile solutions will enable Gama Aviation to reduce pilot workload, increase their operational efficiency and lower costs in an increasingly competitive business environment,” said Ed Winton, Jeppesen Strategic Accounts Manager.
