US engine maker GE Aviation has launched a new website, designed to make it easier for customers to access information on their assets. The online portal, MyGEAviation.com, was two-years in development and has, says GE, significantly cut down on the time needed to access information – reducing the number of clicks from between seven and 12, to just one or two. The website provides GE Aviation customers with access to technical documents, health monitoring information, tutorials and tools designed to support engine management. Users can navigate through the website by engine serial number; engine family or by aircraft. Customers are also able to customise the portal’s interface, by adding personalised tabs, for instance. GE says it designed the website to be a “one-stop shop” for information. GE aims to have all its customers registered on the new site by early 2015.
