Inflight wi-fi connectivity specialist Gogo has released a new system designed for turboprops and light jets.
The $35,000 ATG 1000 system will allow passengers to send emails and make calls in flight via Gogo’s Biz network service which provides coverage in the continental US and parts of Alaska and Canada above 10,000ft.
Gogo said that ATG 1000 can be upgraded via changes to software and gives customers the ability to add features, such as web browsing.
In future ATG 1000 could be used to support cockpit and operational applications, according to Gogo.
Shipments of ATG 1000 are scheduled to start this summer.
