IATA has put together a series of tools to help airlines and those involved in the commercial aviation sector to protect against cyber attacks.

The Aviation Cyber Security Toolkit includes information on current threats to IT systems, such as maintenance and flight management systems, as well as electronic flight bags, e-enabled aircraft and air traffic management, with the aim of helping firms within the sector to minimise the risk of such attacks.

“The aviation industry depends on essential IT infrastructure functioning reliably. The toolkit provides guidance to help airlines and their partners stay one step ahead of those with intent to do harm,” said Carolina Ramirez, IATA’s global director of aviation security and facilitation.
