TCAA, COMSOFT Prepare For ATC Modernisation

The Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) has installed COMSOFT’s Quadrant ADS-B technology and AIDA-NG solution in order to be better equipped for future Air Traffic Control (ATC) services. “We are looking forward to COMSOFT bringing Tanzania in harmony with the latest ATC standards, transforming the way we transmit data by switching to AMHS and significantly reducing the maintenance costs of old radar systems with ADS-B technology,” said Valentina Kayombo, chief air navigation engineer, TCAA. COMSOFT’s AIDA-NG solution and the central portion of the ADS-B surveillance equipment will also be installed at TCAA’s ATC centre in Dar Es Salaam in the near future, while CADAS terminals and Quadrant sensors will be distributed to remote locations in Tanzania.
