UK Passengers Prioritise Email Over Calls

British travellers would tend to use inflight connectivity for web browsing and email rather than phone calls, according to a survey by mobile services provider Aeromobile. While a majority of respondents said they would like to use the internet and send text messages once in the air, only 17 per cent said they would make voice calls. “In 2013 we saw close to an 80 per cent increase in the number of travellers using their mobile phones in the aircraft cabin and data usage on our network went up ten-fold,” said Kevin Rogers, CEO of Aeromobile.
