Lufthansa Technik To Service 787 Parts For Italian Leisure Carrier

Milan-based Neos will become the first Italian operator to fly the A350-900 when it takes its first of three aircraft in December 2017.

Lufthansa Technik has expanded its contract with Italian airline Neos to provide component support for its Boeing 787 fleet.

Under the German MRO’s patented Total Component Support services, the agreement covers parts repair and overhaul, parts pooling and home base lease services to Neos.

Supply of parts will be directed through Lufthansa Technik’s facilities in Frankfurt and Hamburg. The two parties have worked together on component maintenance for 15 years.

Milan-based leisure carrier Neos is scheduled to take the first of three 787-9s in December this year, with the aircraft acquired via a leasing agreement with AerCap.

In addition, Lufthansa Technik confirmed it will provide independent quality assurance as part of an aircraft production Inspection program for the three jets at Boeing’s manufacturing facility in Seattle.

“With Lufthansa Technik we found an experienced partner for 787 component support,” said Marco Brusa, technical director at Neos. “They have demonstrated outstanding service reliability and provided a very competitive offer.”
