A380 AD Proposal

EASA has proposed issuing an airworthiness directive (AD) for the inspection of a harness that could create a fire risk near one of the A380’s fuel tanks. During one inspection the route 1G harness was found in contact with the overpressure door restrainer system located in the left-hand engine pylons, which could lead to chafing and a possible ignition source. The AD would require a one-time inspection to ensure a minimum 10mm clearance between the route G harness and the overpressure door restrainers.
