ACI Reports Passenger And Cargo Gains

Europe led global passenger growth in June as 6.1 per cent more passengers passed through its airports than in June 2013. Airport Councils International (ACI) put global growth at 4.5 per cent, while air freight continued its slow recovery and grew by 2.2 per cent. “Nevertheless, the fragile state of the world economy, the recent geopolitical risks in Eastern Europe and the Middle East and the Ebola outbreak in Western Africa represent significant downside risks for aviation,” said ACI World’s economics director Rafael Echevarne, in a statement.
